V2.2.11 ALPHA UPDATE LATEST
π New Website Pages
- Paintballz.io now has its own pages beyond the game: About, How to Play, Updates and FAQ.
- How to Play is a full guide: controls, game modes, every gun with its stats, kill-streak equipment, maps, earning cash and splats, and tips for new players.
- Updates has the patch notes for every alpha update, newest first.
- Privacy Policy & Terms now has its own page too, as well as the box in the game.
β Help Button
- A new ? button in the top-right corner of the main menu opens How to Play in a new tab, so you don't leave your match.
- The bottom-left corner of the main menu now has About, How to Play, Updates and FAQ links next to Privacy Policy & Terms. They open in a new tab.
V2.2.10 ALPHA UPDATE
π¦ Packs
- There's a new Packs panel at the top of Shop β Deals, with three one-time bundles. Each one has a premium gun, a full exclusive outfit, Premium Crates, splats and cash.
- Noctis Pack ($24.99): the Noctis, the Eclipse Sovereign Hood, Cloak and Legguards, 3 Premium Crates, 300 splats and $200,000.
- Aurelion Pack ($19.99): the Aurelion, the Aurora Seraph Cuirass and Greaves, 3 Premium Crates, 250 splats and $150,000.
- Cyber Pack ($14.99): the Imperator, the Neon Ronin Exojacket and Exopants, 2 Premium Crates, 200 splats and $100,000.
- Each pack can be bought once per account. If you already own something in a pack, you still get everything else.
- Buying a pack doesn't use up your First Purchase Bonus.
π Crates in the starter packs
- The Starter Value Pack ($2.99) now comes with 2 Paint Crates.
- The Starter Pack ($4.99) now comes with 1 Premium Crate and 2 Paint Crates.
- Crates from packs wait for you in Shop β Deals β Crates. They show how many you have left and open for free.
π΄ Exclusive accessories
- There are 7 new exclusive accessories, marked in red: the Eclipse Sovereign Hood, Cloak and Legguards, the Aurora Seraph Cuirass and Greaves, and the Neon Ronin Exojacket and Exopants.
- You can only get them from a pack, from a Premium Crate (2.5% chance) or when one is Today's Deal (105 splats that day).
- When an exclusive is Today's Deal, you can try it on and buy it straight from the avatar page.
- Exclusive outfits are loaded only when someone wears or tries one on, so the game doesn't take any longer to load.
- Bots don't wear exclusives.
V2.2.9 ALPHA UPDATE
π Starter Value Packs
- New Starter Value Pack: 75 splats + $100,000 cash for $2.99, over 3Γ the value of buying splats on their own. It's one per account.
- The Store has a new Starter Value Packs section with both one-time packs: the Starter Value Pack ($2.99) and the Starter Pack ($4.99, 120 splats + $150,000).
- The shop bar on the main menu offers the cheapest pack you haven't bought yet.
- Buying a starter pack doesn't use up your First Purchase Bonus (double splats on your first splat pack).
π Avatar
- Accessories you don't own yet no longer say "CRATE ONLY" in the Collection tab. They're simply greyed out until you win them.
V2.2.8 ALPHA UPDATE
π Bonus Splats
- Bigger splat packs now give extra splats:
- $5 β 50 splats
- $10 β 110 splats (+10%)
- $20 β 240 splats (+20%, Most Popular)
- $50 β 650 splats (+30%, Best Value)
π First Purchase Bonus
- Your first splat pack gives double splats! For example, the $10 pack gives 220 splats instead of 110.
- Buying the Starter Pack doesn't use up this bonus.
V2.2.7 ALPHA UPDATE
π Accessories Now Come From Crates
- Hats, face accessories, back items, tops and pants can no longer be bought with cash or splats. The only way to get them now is to win them in crates (Shop β Deals β Crates).
- Every crate still gives an accessory you don't own yet or a cash prize, with the same chances as before.
- Anything you already own stays yours.
- Today's deal is now always a premium gun.
π Inventory
- The Avatar screen is now your inventory. It shows only the accessories you own, sorted by slot, with a count of how many you have in each.
- Accessories you've won since you last looked have a NEW badge.
- Every slot ends with an "Open crates" tile that takes you straight to the crates.
π Collection
- A new Collection tab on the Avatar screen shows every accessory in the game and how many you've collected (for example 12 / 98).
- Accessories you don't have yet are greyed out and marked CRATE ONLY. You can still try them on to see how they look, and the button below takes you to the crates to win them.
V2.2.6 ALPHA UPDATE
π Faster Loading
- The game's code is now about 8 MB to download before you can play, down from about 23 MB. Maps load only when a match needs them, and the rest download quietly in the background.
π» Touch-Screen Laptops
- Laptops with a touch screen now start with mouse & keyboard controls instead of phone controls. Touch controls are only picked automatically on phones and tablets (you can still choose them in Settings β Mobile).
- If the game ever picks touch controls on a computer, moving your mouse on the menu switches it back.
π Tutorial
- The welcome screen now matches the match you're joining: "Tag everyone!" in Free for all, "Tag the other team!" in team matches.
- The tutorial card is smaller in small game windows, so it no longer covers your crosshair.
- The chat tips and daily task list stay hidden while the tutorial runs, so there's less to read.
π οΈ Fixes
- Hovering over the reset buttons in Settings no longer makes a scroll bar appear and the menu jump around.
V2.2.5 ALPHA UPDATE
βοΈ Graphics and FPS
- New Graphics quality setting in Settings β Game: Low, Medium, High or Ultra.
- Low turns off shadows, lowers the resolution on sharp screens and uses less paint spray, for the smoothest game on older phones and laptops.
- Ultra gives sharper shadows and more paint spray on powerful computers.
- New FPS limit setting: 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 120, 144, 165, 240 or unlimited. The game runs at 60 FPS by default.
- Phones and tablets are put on Low automatically (you can still change it).
πΊοΈ Trenches
- Trenches runs smoother: the game no longer draws the parts of the map you can't see.
π« Recoil and Kills
- Guns now have recoil: every shot springs your view up and a little to the side, and it only springs part of the way back, so you end up aiming a bit off where you were. Heavier guns kick harder. Pull down to stay on target.
- Kills feel better: a quick flash around the screen edges, and a rising chime when you chain kills.
π¨ Player Colours
- Players are now bright red and bright blue and glow a little in their colour, so they stand out from the map instead of blending in.
- Free for all colours are all bright too (no more brown, grey or dark colours).
π± Mobile
- The crosshair is now a dot on phones and tablets.
- Tap the leaderboard button to open it and scroll it with your finger; the joystick no longer gets in the way. Tap it again to close it.
π€ Bots
- Bots in Free for all are a bit weaker: slower to react, worse aim and slower shooting.
β Levels
- Level rewards now give 5 splats every 10 levels, and about half the cash they used to.
- The Level Up message is now a small see-through note instead of a big green bar in the middle of the screen.
π οΈ Fixes
- Fixed players sometimes getting kicked with "bad input" right after joining a match.
- A short lag spike no longer counts as suspicious activity.
- Nukes no longer make the game lag, especially in Free for all and on phones.
V2.2.4 ALPHA UPDATE
π New Player Tutorial
- New players now start with a quick tutorial, right inside a live match.
- The welcome screen shows the goal (tag the other team!) and the controls: WASD to move, mouse to aim, left click to shoot and Space to jump.
- A short card walks you through moving, looking around, jumping, shooting and tagging an enemy, then shows how kills unlock gear.
- The keys on screen light up as you press them and follow your own key bindings.
- Don't need it? Skip it any time: SKIP TUTORIAL on the welcome screen, K during the match, or Skip tutorial on the pause screen.
- Want a refresher? Replay it from Settings β General β REPLAY TUTORIAL.
- Players who have already played won't see it.
π΅ Music
- Paintballz.io now has its own music, written just for the game.
- A relaxed track plays in the menus, and a faster track plays during matches.
- The music fades between the two as you go in and out of a match.
- Every button, tab and toggle in the menus now clicks when you press it.
π Sound Settings
- New Music volume slider in Settings β Sound.
- New Menu click sounds toggle in Settings β Sound.
- Master volume and mute (M) control the music too.
π¨ Visuals
- The game is brighter, with richer colours and more contrast.
- Paint and team colours look the same as before.
- The new look works on every graphics quality, including Low.
π‘οΈ Anti-Cheat
- Anti-cheat no longer bans players. Suspicious activity now gets you kicked from that match instead.
- After a kick you can join another match right away.
- Only admins can ban players.
V2.2.3 ALPHA RELEASE
- Paintballz.io is now in alpha! Here's everything new since Update 2.1.

- Brand new maps to fight on.
- The Classic map has been revamped with a fresh new look.

- Shotguns are here: close-range guns that blast a spread of paintballs in every shot.
π« Premium Guns
- Three new premium guns, 100 splats each, and each one fires its own colour of paint.
- Aurelion: twin bolts, two paintballs every shot, cyan paint.
- Imperator: scatter blast, six paintballs every shot, emerald paint.
- Noctis: piercing bolts that go through two players into a third, with a 6Γ scope and magenta paint.

- You never get an item you already own, and the real odds are shown before you open.

- Watch a short ad for free cash or free splats.
- Daily Deal: one premium gun or accessory is 30% off in splats every day.

- Three new tasks every day, like getting kills, headshots, long shots, kill streaks, using equipment, winning rounds or just playing.
- Each finished task pays $2,000 to $8,000.
- Track your tasks in the corner during a match.
β Levels and Daily Login
- You now level up from playing, getting kills and finishing tasks, all the way to level 100.
- Every level gives a cash reward, and every 5th level gives splats too.
- Log in every day for a 7-day reward track, ending with $10,000 + 15 splats on day 7. Miss a day and the track starts over.
π Private Rooms
- Set up your private room before you make it: put yourself, your party and your friends on Blue or Red.
- Choose the round length: 3, 5, 8, 10 or 15 minutes.
- Friends you put on a team get an invite to join.
- Search and filter rooms by region in the server browser.
π± Mobile
- Paintballz.io now works on mobile! Play on phones and tablets: a joystick to move, drag to look around, and buttons to fire, jump, scope and chat.
- Tap an equipment tile to use it. While placing equipment, FIRE puts it down.
π Account
- Change your password from your account.
- Link a phone number so you can reset a forgotten password with a text code.
π¨ Visuals
- The map has a new cartoon look: soft grass, wood planks and grain on painted walls.
- In first person you now see your character's own arms holding your gun.
