WHAT IS PAINTBALLZ.IO?

Paintballz.io is a free online multiplayer paintball game you play right in your web browser. It's a fast first-person shooter with a bright, low-poly cartoon look, where one paintball is all it takes to tag someone out.

You open the page, press Deploy!, and a few seconds later you're in a live match with up to 17 other players from your region. There's nothing to install and you don't need an account to start. Matches are short, fights are quick, and because every hit counts the same, a new player with a good eye can beat someone with a fancy gun.

The game mixes the pick-up-and-play feel of classic .io games with the things people love about bigger shooters: a ladder of guns to unlock, kill-streak equipment like sentries, drones and a map-wide nuke, a wardrobe of accessories for your character, daily tasks, levels, friends, parties and private rooms.

HOW A MATCH WORKS

Every public room runs continuous 5-minute rounds. In Team Deathmatch you spawn with your team behind a see-through barrier in your team's colour, step out, and try to tag more of the other team than they tag of yours. In Free for All it's every player for themselves and the most tags wins.

Paintballs are real projectiles that arc and drop over distance, so you have to lead moving targets and judge range. Each gun has its own fire rate, reach, accuracy and recoil, and snipers can zoom in with a scope. Cover matters: walls, crates, containers and trenches all stop paint.

Tags fill up your kill-streak slots. Four tags in a round earn a Radar sweep, eight a Sentry turret, twelve a Drone that flies beside you, and the most dedicated players can save up for Walls, Tanks and the Nuke. When the clock hits zero you see the winner and the round's top three, everyone votes on the next map, and the next round begins.

When a room is quiet, computer-controlled bots fill the empty places so there's always someone to play against. As real players join, they take the bots' places. You can read the full rules, controls and strategy on the How to Play page.

PROGRESS AND UNLOCKS

Everything you do in a match earns cash: $250 per tag, bonuses for quick multi-tags, and bounties for shooting down enemy machines. Cash buys guns from the gun ladder, Paint Crates, and the bigger kill-streak rewards. You also earn XP towards 100 levels, three new daily tasks every day, and a 7-day login reward track.

Splats are the premium currency. They buy the five premium guns and Premium Crates. You can earn them for free from levels, the daily login track and optional reward videos, or buy them in the store to support the game.

Your progress is saved to your player profile on our servers. Make a free account and you can pick up where you left off on any device.

FAIR PLAY

Paintballz.io uses an authoritative game server: the server, not your browser, decides where every player is and whether every paintball hits. It also compensates for ping by checking shots against where targets were when you fired, so players far from the server still get fair hits.

• Spawn barriers, spawn protection and exit protection stop spawn camping.
• An anti-cheat system checks movement and shooting, and removes suspicious players from the match.
• Chat has a profanity filter and per-player rate limits, and offensive names can be removed.
• Every gun tags in one hit, and premium guns are different rather than simply stronger, so money can't buy wins.

WHERE YOU CAN PLAY

Paintballz.io runs in any modern browser with WebGL: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari and Opera on Windows, macOS, Linux and Chromebooks, and on iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets. Phones and tablets get touch controls automatically, and you can switch control style in Settings at any time.

The game downloads about 8 MB before your first match and loads other maps in the background while you play, so it starts quickly even on slower connections.

FREE TO PLAY

Paintballz.io is completely free to play. Every map, mode and cash gun can be earned just by playing. The game is supported by ads on paintballz.io and by optional purchases of splats and value packs. Watching a video ad for a reward is always your choice.
